Killruddery Art Festival Wandermäler

This is a participatory art piece that takes a shape of a travelling plain air art studio, similar to the 18th century ‘wandering artists’ workshops. A working station is set up in a location and I will make draw-ings of the scenes on request for the participants. These drawings act as handmade postcards or vedute and the participant can take the jointly made art work home with them.

The one requirement for getting a drawing made is that the participant will actively contribute to the making of the piece by choosing every aspect of the artwork, such as the view, format, materials and the technique. Based on their choices the participant then advices me on my work and the piece will be composed based on their instructions. This is a con-tinuous project and will take place next time summer 2010 in Helsinki, Finland, as a public intervention.
