Teaching experience
Here you can find details of my career as an art educator.
Visual arts education is my passion and I have a wide experience on visual arts education from three different countries. I'm also very interested in cross disciplinary subjects and often use other art forms such as literature, music, dance, drama, photography and filmmaking on my programmes.
Teaching in Primary and Secondary level
I have over ten years experience in teaching visual arts in primary and secondary level in Ireland, where I was the art teacher in the highly acclaimed St. Conleth's College, Dublin 4, Ireland. https://stconleths.ie/ The age group of the pupils ranged from five to the leaving certificate age. I was in charge of the visual arts Junior Certificate and Leaving Certificate exams as well as the arts programme for the Transition Year. I also worked as the head of the art department, where my duties were to develop the department, communicate with the management and take responsibility for the general running of the arts department.
Teaching in Adult Education
In recent years my teaching work has been directed more and more toward adult education. Here in Finland I have been teaching fine art printmaking to visually impaired artists in the third sector since 2018 as well as watercolour painting and drawing in adult education centres. In Ireland I was also teaching fine art printmaking in my alma mater The National College of Art and Design, Dublin in summer school as well as in two Teacher Education Colleges, St. Patrick's College and Hibernia College, Dublin.
